JD Dopson
JD Dopson is the author of From the Sideline to Game Timeand the founder of Dopson Trading Lab. A former basketball player, he learned early that progress comes from preparation, repetition, emotional control, and honest review—the same principles that now shape his approach to market education.
After studying finance at Lincoln University and gaining experience in the financial industry, JD began learning day trading while working full time. He spent mornings and evenings reviewing charts, studying market behavior, testing ideas, and refining his process. That journey taught him to respect uncertainty, protect capital, and treat every decision as part of a written plan.
JD has shared lessons on chart reading, risk management, trading plans, and disciplined decision-making with hundreds of learners from different backgrounds. Through Dopson Trading Lab, his mission is to make financial education easier to understand—especially for people and communities that have not always had equal access to it. His work emphasizes education over hype, process over prediction, and responsibility over promises of quick wealth.
